In my early twenties, I went through a period of time when I didn’t have much access to the music that I loved. That was in-between the use of cassettes and CDs. I was also a struggling college student, and I didn’t have a lot of extra money for investing in the latest technology. I turned to the radio for my music fix, but that often left me at the mercy of whatever was popular. As it happens though, my taste in music is more varied than can be found on the radio.
After a while, I began to crave good music. Then I felt the results of its deficit in my life. I remember wondering what happened to music. I remembered how it made my body feel to move to it, made my mind dance, and my spiritual experience an exquisite range of emotions. That is when I discovered without a doubt that humans need music. Music is essential.
I now feast on music. I love creating my own music with drums and bowls, shakers, rattles, and my voice. But when I want to listen to the vast collection of music from the world beyond me, my go-to is a Spotify subscription. Practically, the whole world is available online!
I love creating playlists for the courses I offer. Recently, I have been digging into one of the collaborative playlists I created for the Creative Life Collective, my free Facebook community. I wanted to share it with you today.
I find the playlist is perfect for listening to while I am working in the studio. I blended tunes that focus on healing, being uplifted, creativity, and good vibes. It’s a collaborative collection, so feel free to add your voice to it in that vein.
